Aqwam Qeela... a yearly platform, from the guidance of the Qur'an to the issues of humanity

Aqwam Qeela is not a seasonal event that is held and then ends, nor a fixed title repeated each year. It is a major yearly platform. It begins from the Holy Qur'an as its founding reference and its great compass, then turns to the issues of people and society, reads them in the light of guidance, raises one essential, unifying question about them, and turns that question into a real movement of knowledge, interaction, and community impact.

In each edition, Aqwam Qeela pauses at a central issue that society needs: an issue that touches a person's awareness, their family, their education, their values, their identity, or their relationship with the world around them. But it does not read these issues from a passing angle or as a momentary reaction. It returns them to their greater origin: the Holy Qur'an — as a book of guidance, a source of insight, and a complete reference for building the human being, correcting behavior, and shaping awareness.

And so Aqwam Qeela renews itself year after year:

“A new question, a deeper issue, a wider impact, and a compass that does not change.”

The idea of Aqwam Qeela

THE IDEA

The idea of Aqwam Qeela is to notice the major issues that society needs to pause at, then frame them in one central question that leads that year's edition and opens a wide space around it for dialogue, learning, experience, partnership, and impact.

It sets out from four questions: • What is the issue that society needs to see clearly? • What meaning should be put back in order? • What question should be asked now, not later? • And how does the Holy Qur’an illuminate this issue, and reconnect it with guidance, purpose, and action?

From this question the components of the edition are built: the forum, the exhibition, the programs, the interactive experiences, the partnerships, and the media campaigns — so the idea moves from a theoretical proposition into a living experience that opens paths of understanding and action for institutions and society.

Aqwam Qeela does not stop at speaking about values; it works to bring them back to life: in a person’s awareness, in a family’s choices, in the responsibility of institutions, and in the direction of society.

The great reference of Aqwam Qeela

The Holy Qur’an is the reference of Aqwam Qeela. From it, Aqwam Qeela draws its name and its compass, and by its guidance it looks at the human being, at life, at society, at education, at identity, and at values.

The Qur’an is not a topic confined to a single edition, nor a secondary theme within the program. It is the origin in whose light the issues are read, and on whose guidance the paths of awareness and impact are built.

We believe that the guidance of the Qur’an extends to the whole of a person’s life: their worship, the way they see themselves, their relationship with their family, their responsibility towards their society, their understanding of knowledge and education, and their stance towards the transformations of the age.

For that reason the themes of the editions change while the compass remains one: the Qur’an as a light that reveals the question, a measure that corrects the idea, and a guidance that directs action to the most upright path.

To return the major issues to their depth, and community awareness to its compass, by bringing the guidance of the Holy Qur'an into the understanding of the human being, their upbringing, their education, their choices, and their building of the future. And to turn the question into a meeting space among scholars, educators, thinkers, institutions, families, young people, and the public — so that awareness becomes a shared responsibility, and impact becomes an extended project.

How the idea continues between editions

CONTINUITY

Aqwam Qeela began, in its first edition, with a question: How do we find guidance through the Qur’an? That launch established the reference and renewed society’s connection with the Holy Qur’an as a book of guidance, of building, and of awareness.

The second edition then came under the title "Education: From Formation to Empowerment", moving from the question of reference to the field of education — where the human being is shaped, where their identity is formed, and where their view of themselves, their society, and their future is built.

The move to education is not a move to a separate topic, but a natural extension of the question of guidance into the field where its effect appears in a person’s awareness, behaviour, and responsibility.

And so Aqwam Qeela extends from one edition to the next: it does not repeat a topic, but deepens a path and reveals a new face of building the human being.

The issues change and the question renews itself, but the compass remains one: the guidance of the Holy Qur’an, and the shaping of the most upright human being.
