Qatar National Sports Day

Qatar National Sports Day is a nationwide initiative launched by the State of Qatar in 2011 to promote the importance of physical activity, encourage healthier lifestyles, and reinforce the role of sports as a unifying social and cultural value across all segments of society.
Observed annually on the second Tuesday of February, the day brings together citizens, residents, families, schools, government entities, and private institutions in a shared celebration of movement, wellbeing, and community spirit. It reflects Qatar’s long-standing commitment to building a healthy, active society as one of the foundations of sustainable national development.
Throughout the day, public spaces, parks, sports clubs, and corniche walkways come alive with a wide range of activities — including community walks and runs, group exercises, traditional games, family-friendly tournaments, and youth-focused sports events that celebrate Qatar’s growing position as a leading global sports destination.
At Hadara Foundation, we mark this occasion by reaffirming our belief that physical wellbeing is an essential pillar of human development, working hand in hand with knowledge, awareness, and community engagement to build a balanced and resilient society — in alignment with the human development goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
This event is open to all members of the community, families, and partners who wish to take part in promoting an active and healthy lifestyle across Qatar.
