Abdullah Abdulghani Foundation for Civilizational Communication (“Hadara”) honored Dr. Aidh bin Dabsan Al Qahtani, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Director General of Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (“RAF”), presenting him with the first Pioneers of Civilizational Communication Award in its inaugural year. The recognition was awarded in appreciation of his significant contributions to strengthening civilizational communication between the peoples of the Gulf and their broader Arab surroundings. This accolade joins a long list of honors received by Al Qahtani, most recently the Order of the Two Niles from the sisterly State of Sudan.
Award Tracks and Nomination Criteria
The Foundation was keen to ensure that the Award’s tracks comprehensively reflect communication in all its dimensions, structuring them as follows: Pioneers of Civilizational Communication Between Qatari Generations; Between the Qatari People and their Gulf Surroundings; Between the Peoples of the Gulf and their Arab Surroundings; Between Arab Peoples and their Islamic Surroundings; Between Islamic Peoples and their International Surroundings; and Between the Peoples of the World.
The Award committee developed and established evaluation criteria through specialists, on the basis of which candidates are identified and then compared. The Award is presented twice each year, offering an opportunity for companies and institutions engaged in corporate social responsibility to support projects launched under the Pioneers of Civilizational Communication Award, thereby elevating standards of performance and quality.
