With the Participation of Experts and Educators… “Hadara” Organizes a Distinguished Workshop to Diagnose and Address Educational Challenges in Primary Education

In a step aimed at strengthening the educational system and advancing pedagogical awareness, Hadara Foundation for Research and Community Development organized a specialized workshop titled “Educational Challenges in Primary Education,” led by Dr. Naif bin Nahar and Dr. Buthaina Abdullah Al Abdulghani, with the participation of a select group of teachers and specialists in the educational field.

Diagnosing Reality and Envisioning Solutions

The workshop sought to identify contemporary educational wounds through a scientific methodology grounded in the principle of “correcting perceptions before correcting practices.” Participants emphasized the necessity of presenting educational content within its authentic doctrinal and existential framework, ensuring that education is not separated from identity and values.

Key Challenges Identified

Attendees openly and transparently discussed a number of challenges facing the educational field, the most prominent of which include:

  • Decline in Motivation: The workshop observed the absence of “intellectual hunger” among students, which has led to a weakened passion for learning and to students viewing the outcomes of knowledge and ignorance as indistinguishable.
  • A Consumerist Identity: The impact of social media in reinforcing consumerist patterns among students, placing pressure on national and values-based identity.
  • The Weakening of the Arabic Language: A decline in levels of proficiency in the Arabic language during the early stages of education — a direct threat to the very instrument of understanding and civilizational communication.
  • The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence: A discussion on modern technological challenges and the necessity of establishing ethical frameworks governing the use of technology in education.

Toward a Quranic Educational Model

The organizers explained that this workshop comes within the context of preparing a “Quranic educational model” that its proponents aspire to bring to life on the ground — by connecting the venerable educational heritage with modern theories, and by activating the role of the teacher as a “planter of values” rather than a mere transmitter of information.

The workshop concluded by affirming that the reform of future generations is “among the greatest forms of righteousness,” emphasizing the need for continued cooperation among institutions, parents, and teachers to create a stimulating educational environment that preserves the balance of the child and prepares them for the future with conscious insight.
